CBD Product FAQs
CBD is a cannabinoid produced naturally in the cannabis plant. Cannabinoid refers to the class of plant compounds primarily found in the cannabis plant. Cannabis can be industrial hemp or medical marijuana. CBD-rich hemp extract sourced from industrial hemp is legal in all 50 states. CBD has been shown to have antioxidative, anti-inflammatory, neuroprotective, anti-seizure, and even anti-cancer properties. There are over a hundred known cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant, most of which are found in only trace amounts. CBD is not psychotropic, or does not produce a ‘high.’ Users report feelings of reduced stress, better sleep, less pain/inflammation, and much more.
This is not a simple answer as CBD works in our bodies in various ways, most of which are still being studied. Our bodies are extraordinary machines and uses various systems to communicate with each other when things aren’t in perfect harmony. Our bodies always want to be in balance, for example: maintaining a stable body temperature, our cardiovascular system maintaining a healthy blood pressure, our immune system fighting off disease and infection, etc.
Researchers originally trying to figure out how THC interacts in the human body discovered a biochemical communication system that is present in all systems of the human bodies. This system was named the endocannabinoid system. Endo- meaning internal, and cannabinoid referring to the class of compounds found in the cannabis plant. They found that cannabinoids attach themselves and lock onto cannabinoid receptors that are found in all systems of the body. These receptors are called CB1 and CB2. These receptors signal parts of the body that aren’t acting in homeostasis and work to synthesize endocannabinoids to naturally help the imbalance. Our bodies naturally produce endocannabinoids whether we have ever ingested cannabis or not, but science is showing that as age and diet related stressors take tolls on our bodies, we naturally produce less endocannabinoids over time, which is called endocannabinoid deficiency syndrome.
The good news is that a regular dose of CBD-rich hemp extract helps to balance the body’s naturally occurring endogenous cannabinoids and helps to keep the body in homeostasis. Much research is still to be done on CBD and how it fully interacts with our bodies and our endocannabinoid system. We encourage you to do your own research and read the thousands of different studies and articles on CBD and make the decision for yourself!
www.projectCBD.org is a great resource that promotes the international leading research and clinical studies on all things cannabis and cannabinoids. They are publicly funded, non-biased, and do not endorse any particular brands.
We use a proprietary extraction process that isolates each individual cannabinoid and terpenoid using a supercritical CO2 extraction. The individual compounds are added back together, but without THC. This results in a THC-Free extraction while still maintaining 99.9% all of the other benefits of a Full-Spectrum Extract. You and your family can be confident and without worries. We have third party tests with each batch to ensure quality.
Yes, we do! Our hemp is tested multiple times at all points of production to ensure safety, consistency, and transparency. We use third party testing with each batch and you can review the results here.
